Bio-real-world laboratory

At the Fraunhofer IPA's Clinical Health Technologies department's bio-real-world laboratory in Mannheim, companies operating in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and diagnostics sectors can take advantage of a range of services.

In addition to providing process consulting for start-ups in the field of reproductive medicine and diagnostics, our scientists can assist with quality control of cell culture plates in the field of advanced cell technologies and regenerative medicine on the 3D cell culture market, as well as with the establishment of cell culture assays for testing therapeutic proteins.

The laboratories are fully equipped and have a modern infrastructure with state-of-the-art analytical equipment.

TissueGrinder

The TissueGrinder technology developed by the Clinical Health Technologies department enables standardized sample preparation and subsequent filtration in a closed sterile system based on standard laboratory equipment. The TissueGrinder combines intelligent control algorithms with mechanical dissociation to provide high-quality single-cell suspensions from fresh, frozen, or FFPE tissue samples for a variety of applications. The core technology of the TissueGrinder is optimized for an ideal combination of shear and cutting force, resulting in highly viable cells for subsequent molecular analysis or cultivation.
